St. Mary’s Convent Sr. Sec. School, Ajmer participated in the 18th Dr. (Mrs.) Deepa Martins Memorial Inter School Debate Competition organized by St. Stephens Senior Secondary School, Ajmer on 30th August 2022.
The competition was open to schools from Ajmer in the Senior Category. Quite a number of schools enrolled for the competition. The invitation for participation was graciously accepted by Sr. Principal. Divanshi Utwani and Anjali Pedwal represented S.M.A. in the English debate. The topic of the debate disclosed just two hours before the competition commenced was: International Organizations have lost their relevance in the current political and economic global order. While Anjali spoke in favour of the topic, Divanshi spoke against the motion. The speakers were judged by an esteemedpanel of judges from a wide range of professional backgrounds on the basis of Content, Delivery, Language and Rebuttal.
The School, after the Pandemic induced drought, had its first real participation and proud moment in inter-school debates with Anjali Pedwal securing the second position individually. The school secured the second position on the basis of the aggregate marks of both the participants. St. Mary’s is proud of her scions and looks forward to many success stories in the coming days.
