Teacher’s Day Celebration 2019
Teachers Day was celebrated with much jubilance on 5th September 2019 in the School campus. The teachers entered the venue of the event to the musical notes of the School band and were welcomed traditionally with ‘tilak-aarti’. They were then felicitated by the students of Class XII. The traditional lamp was lit by Sr. Deepti (Manager), Sr. Sheena (Principal), Sr. Kiran Jojo (Headmistress), Mr. Rajeev Kashyap, Mr. Augustine Sunni, Ms. Elizabeth Daniels and Ms. Betty Fernandes. The students through the Prayer Service invoked the Lord’s blessings on their teachers and the School. Symbolic prayer intentions, a prayer dance and a Bible reading encompassed the major part of the prayer service.
A short entertainment programme on the theme of ‘Teachers are Magical’ followed the prayer service which included dances, poem renditions, a song for teachers, a mime and a magic-stand up comedy act. Sr. Sheena (Principal) in her speech dwelled on the divine responsibility teachers shoulder, that of enlightening young minds, who will become the future citizens of the World. Ms. Elvira Fernandez (2001 Batch) presented a copy of her second book ‘More Magic at Ferns and Blooms’ to the Principal for the School. A short prize giving ceremony followed wherein the students who participated in various inter-School competitions and won were awarded. Sr. Sheena also announced that Ms. Elvira Fernandez secured the first position in the AINACS English Essay Writing Competition 2019.
The programme ended with three cheers and a group photograph session for the teachers. Thereafter, the teachers enjoyed a day out with the management.
