Celebration time at S.M.A., Ajmer
On 23rd December 2023, Christmas was celebrated with great aplomb. The students from the primary classes ensnared the audience with their melodic rendering of carols and brilliant acting and dance moves. They performed an English play based on the Christmas season that emphasised the role of a teacher. Sr. Deepti gave the Christmas message and wished everyone the joy of the season.
The day also witnessed the retirement of Mrs. Bastina Coelho and Silver Jubilee of Mrs. Meenakshi Malhotra. Sr. Anusha, the principal in a moving speech thanked each of the two teachers for their dedicated contributions to the institution over the years. She also wished them God’s blessings for the future. Both the teachers then voiced their gratitude in heart warming words. The management, staff and support staff felicitated the two teachers and wished them the best of everything in life. The farewell citation for Mrs. Bastina Coelho was read out by Mrs. Deepika Stephen and the Silver Jubilee wishes were read out for Mrs. Meenakshi Malhotra by Ms. Elvira Fernandez.

Madhurima Nyati (1971 Batch) initiated an award in 2023 for promoting a love for reading. A quiz was conducted in two phases (written and oral rounds) based on reading novels and other literature (Harry Potter series, Pride and prejudice and Merchant of Venice). The winners and runners-up were awarded – The Madhurima Nyati Award for Excellence in Reading and Literature 2023 (cash prize and certificates) by Sr. Anusha.

The celebrations ended with Santa Claus putting in an appearance and dancing to the tunes of Jingle bells. The excited students clapped euphorically. Sr. Anusha addressed the gathering and extended Christmas greetings and New Year wishes to all the students, teachers and their families. Chocolates were distributed to all the students in their respective classes before the school closed down for the winter vacation.
